Background
The Humanitarian Observatory for Policy and Education in Southeast Asia (HOPESEA), based at the Chiang Mai University School of Public Policy, is a pioneering center established to address the urgent and interconnected challenges of climate change, displacement, land governance, and migrant health.

To become Southeast Asia's leading hub for proactive climate adaptation and displacement policy, delivering knowledge and tools that foster resilience, health security, and sustainable futures.

At HOPE SEA, our mission is to strengthen Southeast Asia's resilience to climate change by combining cutting-edge research with inclusive community engagement. We focus on risk communication and proactive policy design to ensure that climate adaptation and displacement strategies are both evidence-based and socially just.
