Health Impact & Migration
Researching the nexus between health, migration, and climate change
Overview
HOPE SEA investigates the complex interconnections between health impacts, migration, and climate change in Southeast Asia. Climate change directly affects population health and is a significant driver of migration across the region.
Migrant workers and displaced communities often face barriers in accessing healthcare services. Our research focuses on developing policies that bridge health gaps and create inclusive health systems that serve all populations regardless of migration status.
We work with public health organizations, policymakers, and local communities to build a strong evidence base for effective health and migration policies that protect vulnerable populations.
Climate & Health Nexus
Research on climate change impacts on health, including infectious diseases, heat-related illnesses, and mental health effects across Southeast Asian populations.
Migrant Health
Studying barriers to healthcare access for migrant workers and developing policy approaches to create inclusive health systems that serve all populations.
Regional Health Policy
Supporting the development of regional health policies that respond to the interconnected challenges of migration and climate change in Southeast Asia.
